Mexico orders remote work and school closures for World Cup opening day

Private‑sector firms are urged to adopt tele‑work for non‑essential administrative tasks. The measures, limited to the inauguration day, aim to improve urban mobility, road safety and accessibility amid the expected concentration of national and foreign attendees.

The decree applies only to the capital and is part of a broader strategy to manage the event’s impact on the city’s transportation network and public services.
