Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum Announces Scholarships for 12.8 Million Students

President Claudia Sheinbaum highlighted the expansion of the Bienestar Scholarship program, which now benefits 12,876,579 students nationwide. The universal aid covers basic, upper‑secondary and higher‑education levels, providing resources for school supplies, uniforms and basic needs. Sheinbaum said the program aims to ensure all children start school on equal footing, reducing educational disparities. The initiative is financed with a social investment of 23,620,678,600 pesos, delivered directly to beneficiaries through cards, with further disbursements planned.

The announcement was made during the morning “Mañaneras del pueblo” press briefing, emphasizing the government's commitment to universal education support as part of its broader Bienestar programs.
