Mexico: President Sheinbaum frames constitutional reforms as historic milestone

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has characterized recent constitutional reforms as a historic turning point for the nation's legal framework. She compared the current legislative process to significant historical milestones, such as the Constitution of 1824 and the 1917 Constitution, noting that the new changes aim to establish an irreversible foundation for social guarantees and the protection of public enterprises.

At the state level, Emma Rivera, President of the Constitutional Points Commission in Michoacán, emphasized the role of legislative bodies in transforming social demands into permanent legal rights. Rivera noted that these reforms are designed to provide legal permanence to changes that impact families and respond to the evolving social realities of the population.
