Mexico promotes regional tourism through cultural heritage and romance segments
Mexico is promoting various regional tourism destinations, focusing on cultural heritage and specialized travel segments. In Querétaro, the ‘Pueblo Mágico’ of Amealco de Bonfil offers visitors a blend of Otomí roots and colonial history. Key attractions include the neoclassical Santa María Parish, built between 1775 and 1905, and the remains of the 18th-century San Ildefonso Tultepec Temple.
Meanwhile, Guanajuato Capital is launching an international strategy to position itself as a premier destination for romance and cultural tourism, specifically targeting the European market. The campaign highlights destination weddings in historic haciendas, traditional ‘callejoneadas’ musical walks, and the city’s UNESCO-recognized architectural heritage, such as the famous Callejón del Beso. The initiative aims to leverage the Guanajuato International Airport to increase international arrivals.
