Mexico promotes sustainability through corporate ESG and climate action initiatives

In Mexico, various initiatives are highlighting the intersection of corporate responsibility, environmental protection, and social governance.

Grupo Cotemar is participating in the ‘Ruta de las Empresas’ to showcase its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) integration within the offshore oil and gas sector. Through the traveling urban art piece ‘Manos que sostienen el mar’ by artist Perla Crespo, the company emphasizes the human element and the role of families in maintaining stability and safety during maritime operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

Simultaneously, the organization México por el Clima has launched the second edition of its Climate and Nature Action Week in Mexico City. Hosted at the Papalote Museo del Niño, the event aims to transition from climate commitments to concrete projects. The initiative seeks to build a permanent collaborative network between governments, businesses, and academia, focusing on three pillars: planetary awakening, catalytic innovation, and resilient ecosystems. Mexico City Mayor Clara Brugada Molina participated in the inaugural press conference, emphasizing the need for coordinated action to address climate challenges.
