Mexico advances aerospace and transport infrastructure with Safran investments and new bridges

The Mexican government highlighted several large‑scale projects aimed at expanding both aerospace capacity and regional transport. In Chihuahua, Safran Electrical & Power inaugurated a new plant with a US$7.4 million investment that will generate about 800 jobs and operate on 100 % green energy. In Querétaro, Safran opened a US$140 million maintenance and testing complex, creating roughly 500 high‑skill positions and strengthening the state's role in the global aerospace supply chain.

At the same time, the federal Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport is advancing major bridge works. The Las Tunas bridge in Colima, a 503‑metre crossing funded with MXN 105 million, is 54.9 % complete and will serve more than 157 000 residents, cutting travel times by 15 minutes. In Tula, Hidalgo, a MXN 13 million rehabilitation of the Bulevar Refinería aims to improve mobility for the energy zone’s population. In Chiapas, the Rizo de Oro bridge, a MXN 1.932 billion project 91 % finished, will link 21 communities, benefiting about 300 000 people and shortening trips to the state capital by roughly an hour.
