Mexico-Querétaro Highway blocked by apple truck rollover
A trailer carrying approximately 70 tons of apples overturned on the Mexico-Querétaro highway near kilometer 151 in San Juan del Río. The accident, which occurred in the direction of Palmillas, caused a total collapse of traffic as the heavy vehicle blocked all three lanes.
The rollover resulted in the cargo being scattered across the asphalt. Reports indicate that the incident led to looting, with individuals arriving in private vehicles to collect the fruit from the roadway.
Authorities suggest that excessive speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident. Elements of the National Guard arrived at the scene to coordinate traffic and oversee the cleanup efforts, which involved cranes and backhoes to remove the vehicle and the spilled produce.
