Mexico-Querétaro train projects highlighted by President Sheinbaum
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to large-scale infrastructure development in the State of Mexico. During a regional report, she highlighted several key projects, including the Tren Insurgente, the Mexico-Querétaro train (which will pass through Huehuetoca), and the Chalco-Santa Martha Trolebús, alongside various road modernizations.
Regarding the Mexico-Querétaro train specifically, officials from the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT) in Querétaro indicated that construction for the La Corregidora station is expected to begin in early 2027. Current efforts are focused on defining station projects, analyzing parking surfaces, and managing rights-of-way. In San Juan del Río, officials noted that a large plot of land is available for parking, whereas the Querétaro station requires more complex land negotiations, including discussions with the Benito Juárez school and the use of a former Pemex property.
