Mexico recovers bodies of 36 of 63 missing Pasta de Conchos miners
Mexico's Labor and Social Welfare Secretary Marath Baruch Bolaños López met with the families of the miners from the Pasta de Conchos collapse in Coahuila to report progress. Authorities have recovered the bodies of 36 of the 63 missing miners, with 31 identified and 28 handed over to relatives.
The rescue work is being carried out under commitment number 61 of President Claudia Sheinbaum and involves the Federal Electricity Commission, the Attorney General's Office, the National Institute of Genomic Medicine and the Mexican Social Security Institute. Progress in the three mine units is reported at 70 % (Unit 1), 85 % (Unit 2) and 83 % (ramps of Unit 3). Since the 2019 Reparations and Justice Plan, the government has fulfilled indemnities, housing aid and built a memorial for the families.
