STPS suspends Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro registrations for October

The Mexican Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) has announced that the ‘Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro’ program will not open its platform for new registrations or linkages during October 2026. This suspension is part of a ‘focalization strategy’ implemented by the agency. Interested individuals aged 18 to 29 who are not currently studying or working are advised to monitor official channels for the announcement of the next registration period.

When active, the program provides participants with a monthly stipend of 9,582.47 pesos for up to 12 months, alongside medical coverage through the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). Registration requires an updated CURP, official identification, and proof of residence.

In other regional labor news, Ecuador has launched a new phase of the ‘Jóvenes en Acción’ program, targeting 700,000 young people for paid internships and training, with monthly payments of $400 scheduled for October 30 and November 27. Additionally, Chile has introduced the Unified Employment Subsidy (SUE) to support priority groups, including youth, women, and people with disabilities, through fiscal incentives for formal hiring.
