Mexico reports decrease in intentional homicides
Preliminary crime data released by Marcela Figueroa Franco, head of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, indicates a downward trend in intentional homicides in Mexico.
In the state of Tamaulipas, historical data tracking homicide rates from 2015 through the current administration of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya shows a decrease in these crimes. This trend aligns with the national data used by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to monitor public insecurity. The figures are based on reported crimes recorded in investigation files by the Public Ministry and reported by the Attorney General's Offices across the 32 federal entities.
