Mexico highlights security cooperation with U.S. agencies

The Mexican government reported sustained cooperation with international security agencies between September 2025 and June 2026 to address high-impact crimes, organized crime, irregular migration, and terrorism. These findings were included in President Claudia Sheinbaum’s Second Government Report.

During this period, Mexico held 55 coordination meetings with United States authorities, including the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Marshals Service, the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, and authorities from the Southern District of Texas. These meetings focused on intelligence exchange and shared objectives.

Additionally, Mexico, the United States, and Canada continued monitoring synthetic drug trafficking, chemical precursors, and public health through the North American Drug Policy Dialogue. Mexico also reported 45 operational actions involving the location and transfer of individuals requested through judicial or migratory procedures. Cooperation extended to Central and South America, with high-level security meetings held with Belize, El Salvador, and Guatemala, alongside intelligence exchanges with 17 other countries.
