Mexico road accidents result in three police deaths and multiple injuries
Two separate traffic accidents in Mexico have resulted in multiple injuries and fatalities. In Santa Catarina, a 36-year-old driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing a pickup truck to collide with a trailer near the Jonuco access. The crash injured three people, including two children aged 7 and 10, who were being driven to a dental appointment. All three were transported by the Red Cross to the IMSS General Zone Hospital number 21.
In a separate incident in Escobedo, a rollover accident on the Anillo Periférico killed three members of the Fuerza Civil police force. The crash occurred around 11:00 hours at kilometer 28 of the toll road. Preliminary reports suggest the vehicle lost control and struck the central median, causing the officers to be ejected from the vehicle. The victims have been identified as Jonathan Almazán Robledo and Jorge Armando.
