Mexico SAT offers full penalty waivers in tax debt regularization program
Mexico's tax authority, the Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT), provides online tools for taxpayers to check outstanding tax debts, view credits, and generate payment slips. The agency also announced the 2026 Programa de Regularización Fiscal, which grants up to a 100 % discount on fines, surcharges and execution costs and allows the balance to be paid in up to six installments. Since its launch, 36,185 taxpayers – 25,410 individuals and 10,775 companies – have regularized their obligations, and the program has recovered about 5.97 billion pesos for the treasury, mainly from income tax (ISR) and value‑added tax (IVA). The deadline to join the scheme is 31 October, and applications can be submitted online through the SAT portal or in person at SAT offices.
