Manzanillo port seizure of 270 kg of cocaine and two migrants

On 20 June 2026, the Mexican Navy (Marina) acting with the Port Protection Unit, the National Customs Agency (ANAM), the Secretariat of Security and Protection (SSPC) and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (FGR) inspected a container at the port of Manzanillo, Colima. Inspectors found 268 sealed packages of white powder weighing approximately 270 kilograms, which laboratory analysis confirmed as cocaine.

The same inspection uncovered two men traveling in irregular migratory status. Both were taken into custody, received medical attention and were placed under the jurisdiction of the competent authorities.

After the seizure, FGR agents performed official weighing, counting and chemical testing of the narcotics. All material and evidence were handed over to the Public Ministry to open a criminal investigation and determine the source and participants of the trafficking operation.
