Mexico sentences man to 56 years for disappearance of teacher

A Mexican court has sentenced Álvaro Daniel N. to 56 years in prison for the disappearance of Daniela Muñoz Muñoz, a 25-year-old teacher. The sentencing follows a years-long investigation into her disappearance from Apizaco.

Daniela was last seen on September 13, 2018, in the streets of Apizaco. Following her disappearance, authorities arrested Álvaro Daniel N. in the State of Mexico, identifying him as the last person seen with her. While a vehicle linked to the defendant was recovered containing evidence used in the criminal process, the investigation has not yet led to the location of the victim.

Despite the conviction, the family of Daniela Muñoz Muñoz continues to seek answers regarding her whereabouts.
