Mexico State authorities arrest suspect in Camilo Séptimo musician mass killing
Authorities in the State of Mexico have arrested Diego Sebastián “N” in connection with a mass killing that claimed the lives of Jonathan Meléndez, founder of the band Camilo Séptimo, his pregnant wife, their three-year-old daughter, and a domestic worker.
Investigations suggest the motive was a debt of approximately 300,000 Mexican pesos. According to reports, the suspect entered the residence under the guise of being a business partner. After allegedly subduing the family and a domestic worker, the suspect opened fire. The incident also resulted in the death of the family's dog.
Psychological analysis of the case suggests the violence may have escalated from extreme frustration when the suspect failed to obtain the money and a USB drive containing cryptocurrency information. The Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México (FGJEM) has detained the primary suspect and an accomplice who was waiting outside the building.
