Mexico state education secretariat rolls out free glasses for public primary students

The State Education Secretariat (SEE) in Mexico has opened a program that provides free prescription glasses to students in public primary schools who were identified with visual acuity deficiencies during the "Vive Saludable, Vive Feliz" health screenings. Applications must be submitted by 31 July and require the screening report, the student’s CURP, and an official ID of the accompanying adult. No appointment is needed; families can visit a designated Salud Digna clinic or an authorized Coppel store for a specialized optometric exam, after which the child selects a frame from a flexible, child‑friendly range. The basic package—including lenses and frame—is provided at no cost, with delivery times ranging from 35 minutes to 15 business days depending on the lens type and chosen location.
