Mexico State implements new electric transport and railway mobility projects

Authorities in the State of Mexico are implementing new mobility strategies to improve transportation and reduce congestion. In Tenango del Valle, the municipal president, Roberto Bautista Arellano, announced the upcoming launch of the Toluca-Metepec-Tenango electric transport corridor. The project, managed by the State of Mexico Ministry of Mobility, aims to deploy approximately 50 electric buses, serving an estimated 50,000 daily passengers.

Simultaneously, the government of Toluca has launched pilot tests at the La Maquinita railway crossing to mitigate traffic jams caused by train maneuvers. In coordination with the State of Mexico Ministry of Mobility and Kansas City Southern de México, officials are monitoring train passage times and idling periods. The goal is to identify operational adjustments that reduce road blockages without disrupting freight services, while developing alert mechanisms to notify drivers of upcoming train movements.
