Mexico States Roll Out New Conservation Tours and Budget Plans

The Secretariat of the Environment in Nuevo León launched the "Gira Natural Nuevo León 2026," a tour of the state's northern natural treasures. Led by regional head Raúl Lozano Caballero, the itinerary included the Grutas de Bustamante, Ojo de Agua, Parque La Turbina and Charco del Lobo, emphasizing water resources, caves, biodiversity and urging public stewardship.

In Morelos, the Secretaría de Desarrollo Sustentable began preparing its 2027 budget, prioritising protection of natural areas, forest‑fire control, animal welfare and environmental infrastructure. Secretary Alán Dupré Ramírez outlined plans for two new urban parks (Acapantzingo and Cuautla), expanded use of monitoring technology, and noted that the proposed development at Los Cacahuates still lacks the required environmental permits. Governor Margarita González Saravia will review the budget before approval.
