Mexico store robbery incidents draw public reaction

In Ecatepec, State of Mexico, a man attempted to steal merchandise from a shop, paid for a bag of chips and hid additional products. Store staff reviewed security footage, confronted him as he left, recovered the items and the suspect fled after being struck.

In Tochtepec, two women identified as Sandra N. and Diana N. entered a 3B store, concealed products in their clothing and were spotted by employees. Police arrived, detained the women and linked them to similar thefts in Tecamachalco and Tlacotepec de Benito Juárez. Authorities said investigations will continue and charges may be filed.

Both incidents were captured on video and shared on social media, sparking debate over appropriate responses to shoplifting.
