Mexico strengthens security forces with new police graduations

Mexico has seen two significant additions to its security forces through recent graduation ceremonies. In Veracruz, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) graduated the 30th generation of the Initial Training Program for Penitentiary Police at the National Academy of Penitentiary Administration (ANAP). This group consists of 317 elements, including 181 women and 136 men, who will be deployed to strengthen surveillance and custody operations at Federal Centers for Social Reinsertion (CEFERESOS).

Separately, in Puebla, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) held a graduation for the 48th generation of the Police Training and Professionalization Academy. This cohort includes 83 cadets, composed of 41 women and 42 men. Following 1,080 hours of mandatory basic training, these officers will join the municipal police force to support crime prevention and public order initiatives.
