Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is evaluating her attendance at the upcoming G20 summit, which is scheduled for December 14 and 15 in Miami, Florida. Sheinbaum confirmed that Mexico received a formal invitation to the forum, noting that while the decision on her personal participation is still being finalized, Mexico must be represented at the meeting convened by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Sheinbaum revealed that she has held 21 telephone conversations with Trump since his return to the White House. A formal bilateral meeting between the two leaders could take place during the summit, provided that their respective administrations reach agreements on pending issues including trade, security, migration, and tariffs.

Additionally, Sheinbaum ruled out a trip to Brazil to meet with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, citing the ongoing Brazilian electoral process. Despite this, she noted that Pemex and Petrobras have a memorandum of understanding, signed in June, to cooperate on deepwater exploration projects in the Gulf of Mexico.
