Veracruz faces flooding as authorities mark 60 years of Plan DN-III-E
In Veracruz, authorities are managing the consequences of heavy rainfall and river overflows. In the municipality of José Azueta, the Tesechoacán River has flooded homes in communities such as El Maguey, Veracrucito, and the Vázquez Vela neighborhood. Local authorities have opened a temporary shelter in the municipal seat as families evacuate to avoid rising waters.
In Pánuco, Governor Rocío Nahle García commemorated the 60th anniversary of the first application of the Plan DN-III-E. The plan was originally deployed in October 1966 following Hurricane Inés and the overflowing of the Pánuco and Tamesí rivers. The ceremony included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque to honor the humanitarian service provided by the Mexican Army and various government institutions during natural disasters.
