Mexico to view Luna de Ciervo full moon and planetary alignment in July 2026

A full Moon in July 2026, popularly called the “Luna de Ciervo,” will be visible across Mexico on the evenings of 28‑29 July. The Moon reaches its maximum illumination at 14:46 local time (central Mexico), so the best viewing will be after twilight when it rises above the horizon. In Puebla, locations with higher altitude and low light pollution such as Los Fuertes de Loreto, Guadalupe, Atlixco, the slopes of La Malinche and the Sierra Norte are recommended for optimal sight‑lines.

A planetary alignment is also expected on the early morning of 12 July 2026, when the waning Moon will appear near Mars, Saturn and Uranus. NASA advises look‑outs between 04:00 and 05:30 local time. Mars will show as a faint reddish point, Saturn will be relatively bright, and Uranus will require binoculars or a telescope to be seen. The alignment offers a rare chance to observe four celestial bodies together from the same region of the sky.
