Mexico truck overturns trigger looting on highways in Chihuahua and Sonora

A tractor‑trailer carrying several pallets of Lala cream cheese overturned on the Chihuahua–Delicias highway near kilometre 204. The driver escaped uninjured and the cargo spilled onto the road. Dozens of motorists stopped to remove boxes until elements of the Guardia Nacional arrived, blocked the area and restored order.

In Sonora, a trailer loaded with beer tipped over on the Guaymas‑Hermosillo stretch. National Guard units secured the scene to prevent theft. A woman attempted to take the beer, filmed a guard officer, and was stopped. The video spread online, earning her the nickname “Lady Rapiña.” No injuries were reported in either incident.
