Mexico U-20 eyes Olympic spot, Arsenal and Tottenham scout Hugo Camberos

The Mexico under‑20 national football team completed the CONCACAF U‑20 Championship group stage with a perfect record, including a 4‑0 win over Guatemala, and kept a clean sheet. The squad now looks to reach the semifinals, which will guarantee a place at the 2027 FIFA U‑20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and also secure the sole CONCACAF berth for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Scouts from England’s Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur attended the match at Estadio Cuauhtémoc to monitor forward Hugo Camberos, a Chivas prospect who has previously attracted interest from Belgian side Club Brugge. Mexico must win its quarter‑final to stay on track for both the World Cup and Olympic qualification, while a U.S. tournament victory would hand the Olympic spot to the runner‑up.
