Mexico unveils DN-XI armored vehicles with Saraf Balam technology

The Mexican Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) has unveiled a series of domestically designed and manufactured tactical armored vehicles, known as the DN-XI. These vehicles are engineered for high mobility and significant ballistic protection, capable of resisting impacts of up to .50 caliber.

A key feature of these vehicles is the integration of the Saraf Balam remote weapon systems, which allow operators to engage targets from within the safety of the armored hull. The Saraf Balam 1 system supports 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm machine guns with day and night vision capabilities. The Saraf Balam 2 variant is more heavy-duty, supporting 12.7 mm machine guns and 40 mm grenade launchers, equipped with thermal imaging.

Additionally, the military is showcasing the Cimarrón units, designed for high-risk operations, and the Xolotl platform, which is part of a project to recognize and neutralize explosive devices using magnetometry and specialized robotics.
