Moguer, Spain minor‑assault video leads to arrests and legal action
A video showing several minors assaulting and verbally abusing another girl in Moguer, Huelva, went viral on TikTok. The Guardia Civil identified the girls who carried out the attack and the individuals who recorded and disseminated the footage. The victims’ family filed a complaint for assault and violation of privacy, and the authorities opened investigations into the perpetrators under the Spanish Juvenile Law.
The Andalusian Audiovisual Council (CAA) reported the material to the Fiscalía de Criminalidad Informática, arguing that its continued presence on the platform could further damage the victim’s rights. The CAA also lodged a formal request with TikTok to remove the video, citing violations of minors’ protection and privacy. Legal expert Xavier Abat emphasized that responsibility extends beyond the physical aggressors to those who film and share the content, warning of possible criminal and civil consequences.
The case highlights concerns over bullying, the spread of violent content online, and the legal duties of digital platforms to safeguard minors.
