Mexico Women's U-20 team draws 2-2 against Benin in World Cup debut

The Mexico Women's U-20 national team drew 2-2 against Benin in their opening match of the U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland.

Mexico controlled much of the match and held a two-goal lead. Alice Soto opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and Monse Saldívar extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 51st minute with a left-footed shot.

However, defensive errors allowed Benin to recover. Gandonou scored a penalty in the 56th minute to bring Benin within one goal, and later capitalized on a defensive mistake in the 86th minute to complete the comeback and secure the draw.
