Mexico's Rita Cetina Scholarship to disburse 2,500 pesos to primary families in August 2026

The Mexican government’s Rita Cetina Scholarship will provide a one‑time payment of 2,500 pesos per primary‑school student in August 2026. The funds, intended for school supplies and uniforms, will be transferred to beneficiaries’ Banco del Bienestar cards. Distribution of the cards continues through 31 July, after which the cash disbursement begins. Payments follow a calendar based on the first letter of the card‑holder’s surname, with deposits scheduled from 3 August to 14 August; no deposits occur on 8–9 August or weekends.

The program, administered by the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) and the Coordinación Nacional de Becas para el Bienestar Benito Juárez (CNBBB), pays 2,500 pesos for each enrolled primary student; families with multiple children receive the amount for each child. While the primary‑level rollout occurs in 2026, registration for pre‑school beneficiaries is planned for 2027, with details and amounts yet to be announced.
