Federal Council of Fiscal Responsibility approves Convergence Program

The Federal Council of Fiscal Responsibility held a meeting led by National Economy Minister Luis Caputo to address provincial fiscal management and economic planning.

A key outcome of the session was the approval of Resolution No. 146, which establishes the Convergence Program for the Federal Fiscal Responsibility Regime. This institutional tool is designed for provinces experiencing deviations from fiscal rules, requiring them to present formal plans with verifiable objectives, timelines, and indicators to regularize their financial status. The Executive Committee will be responsible for monitoring these plans.

Additionally, the Council reviewed and approved several financial reports, including the 2025 budget closure evaluations, the 2026 budgets, and multi-year projections for 2026-2028. Participants also analyzed the national government's macrofiscal guidelines for 2027, which will serve as a foundation for provincial budget planning. Representatives from various provinces, including Entre Ríos, Jujuy, and Tucumán, participated in the discussions.
