Mexico's AGRICULTURA updates rural welfare program files
Mexico’s Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRICULTURA) has launched an initiative to update files for the ‘Producción para el Bienestar’ program. The process aims to modernize the registry of beneficiaries by verifying data such as crop types, land surface area, water regimes, and agricultural cycles. Beneficiaries are requested to provide georeferenced data for their plots through specific regional offices, including OREF, DDR, or CADER locations.
This update is intended for existing beneficiaries to ensure the continuity of direct support and promote food sovereignty. It is not a call for new producers to join the program. All procedures for this update are personal and free of charge.
Additionally, AGRICULTURA, in collaboration with the Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications (ATDT), has activated the ‘Línea Agricultura’ via the 079 contact center. This service operates 24/7, 365 days a year, providing guidance on social programs such as ‘Fertilizantes para el Bienestar’, ‘Bienpesca’, and ‘Leche para el Bienestar’. The line also offers specialized legal assistance for inquiries, complaints, and technical information regarding agricultural and livestock production.
