Mexico's Bienestar Pension payment schedule and withdrawal rules announced
The Mexican government’s Secretaría de Bienestar released a provisional calendar for the upcoming Bienestar pension payments. Deposits will be made in batches based on the first letter of beneficiaries’ surnames, starting with the letter A on 1 July and ending with W‑Z on 24 July. Each eligible adult older than 65 will receive 6,400 MXN bimonthly, while women aged 60‑64 get 3,000 MXN and people with permanent disabilities receive 3,200 MXN. The pension is deposited onto a Banco del Bienestar debit card, which functions like any other bank account. Beneficiaries can withdraw funds on the day of deposit or later; any unwithdrawn amount simply remains on the card and can be used for purchases. The program requires standard documentation such as birth certificate, official ID, CURP, and proof of address, with additional medical certification for disability recipients. The schedule aims to avoid crowding at banks and ensure orderly distribution, and officials advise checking balances via ATMs or the bank’s app and contacting the Bienestar line if payments do not appear.
