Mexico's CFE restores power after heavy rains hit Sinaloa, Baja California and Sonora

The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) completed repairs and fully restored electricity to customers in the municipalities of Culiacán, Navolato and Eldorado in Sinaloa after intense rain and strong winds caused damage to transmission lines and distribution infrastructure. The operation involved 90 workers, specialized equipment such as pick‑up trucks, cranes, a backhoe and a Unimog vehicle, and restored service to 100% of affected users.

In the north‑western states of Baja California and Sonora, CFE replaced 32 damaged power poles—12 in Mexicali and 18 in San Luis Río Colorado—following heavy rain, extreme temperatures above 40 °C and high humidity that caused pole collapses and prolonged outages. The replacements aim to re‑establish reliable electricity supply to the impacted neighborhoods.
