Mexico's Chihuahua and Coahuila towns host international tourism festivals
Mayor Laura Patricia Jiménez Gutiérrez of Múzquiz, Coahuila, highlighted the municipality's push to boost culture and tourism through the International Folklore Festival, featuring groups from Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina and promoting historic sites such as the Teatro Juárez.
In Chihuahua, the 30th‑anniversary Festival Internacional de Turismo de Aventura (FITA) runs from July 31 to August 2, with events including the Waru Norawa Jeep 4x4 trek in Guachochi, the Picacho Trail Run in Aldama, the mountain‑bike Reto Casa Colorada in Cuauhtémoc, the XXXVI Encuentro Santabarbarino in Santa Bárbara, Expo Cusi in Cusihuiriachi, and vendimia festivals in Casas Grandes and Santa Isabel. All activities are part of the "Chihuahua es para ti ¡Conócelo!" tourism promotion program.
