Mexico's Ciudad Juárez and Playa Miramar host large community runs supporting animal shelters and tourism

The first edition of the "Huellitas Verdes Kilómetros de Ayuda" charity run took place in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, with about 250 participants. Organized by the Partido Verde Ecologista de México, each runner donated a bag of dog food, resulting in a total of four tonnes of food that will be distributed to the Asociación Protectora de Animales de la Calle and other animal‑rescue groups, directly benefiting roughly 260 dogs.

In Playa Miramar, Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, the "Cartoons Runners" race, part of the MiTiempo series, attracted more than 800 runners. Municipal president Erasmo González Robledo highlighted the event’s role in promoting sport tourism and generating economic benefits for hotels, restaurants and local businesses, with support from Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya.
