Mexico's CNTE to meet government on teachers' demands ahead of 2026 World Cup

The federal government proposed a permanent commission to work with the Coordinadora Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (CNTE) on the union's demands, including repeal of the 2007 ISSSTE law, dissolution of USICAMM and pension reforms. Secretary of the Interior Rosa Icela Rodríguez said the commission would allow “responsible” legal and technical follow‑up of teachers' proposals.
