Mexico's CODHEM releases rights booklet for sexual‑gender‑diverse women

The State Human Rights Commission of Mexico (CODHEM) unveiled a "Cartilla de los Derechos de las Mujeres de la Diversidad Sexual y de Género" during the First State Meeting of Municipal LGBTTTIQANB+ Representatives in Toluca, Estado de México. President Víctor Leopoldo Delgado Pérez described the booklet as a strategic tool to provide clear, accessible information on rights such as equality, non‑discrimination, gender identity, health, education, work, justice access, and political participation. The event also saw the distribution of the first copies and the awarding of 35 recognitions to municipal representatives for advancing inclusion.

Following the launch, CODHEM participated in a round‑table titled "Juventudes Libres y Diversas," organized by the Instituto Mexiquense de la Juventud. The discussion emphasized the need to translate the booklet’s guidance into concrete policies that guarantee young LGBTQ+ people dignity, safety, and access to education, health, and employment. Delegates called for institutional action to move from dialogue to implementation, reinforcing an inclusive State of Mexico.
