Mexico's Creel–Sierra Tarahumara Tourism Guide Program Issues 25 Federal Credentials

The state government of Mexico, through the Secretaría de Turismo, awarded 25 federal credentials to tourist guides who completed a 322‑hour training program for the Creel–Sierra Tarahumara route. The program, developed in coordination with the municipality of Bocoyna and delivered by the Universidad Regional del Norte, follows the NOM‑08‑TUR‑2002 standards and covered history, culture, gastronomy, natural heritage and key attractions of the region. The certification ceremony was led by tourism secretary Edibray Gómez Gallegos and attended by the university rector, the tourism subsecretary, the Bocoyna town hall representative and the director of tourism quality. The initiative seeks to professionalize tourism service providers and increase the quality and confidence of visitors in the state.
