Mexico's Data Center Investment Surge Drives AI Infrastructure Growth

Since the public launch of OpenAI's ChatGPT in November 2022, demand for artificial‑intelligence computing has spurred a rapid expansion of data‑center capacity in Mexico. Analysts project that direct investment in the country's digital‑infrastructure market could exceed USD 7 billion by 2027, with the state of Querétaro emerging as the primary hub.

CBRE reports that Querétaro's data‑center inventory grew 450.2 % year‑on‑year in the first quarter of 2026, reaching 298.2 MW, driven by a handful of hyperscale and AI deployments. To support these facilities, connectivity is being upgraded to terabit‑scale levels, ensuring low‑latency, secure data transport between sites and end users.
