Mayor Pepe Chedraui expands food‑aid program in Puebla
Puebla’s municipal government, led by Mayor Pepe Chedraui, continued its “Alimentación Imparable” initiative in late July 2026. The program, administered by the DIF Puebla Capital and overseen by director‑general Jesús Alejandro Cortés Carrasco and patronate president MariElise Budib, delivered more than 8,000 free food parcels to families in the Santa María Xonacatepec auxiliary board. A separate distribution on the same dates provided 4,418 parcels to residents of the La Resurrección auxiliary board.
The aid, which includes basic‑basket items, targets vulnerable groups such as children not enrolled in school, people with disabilities and the elderly. Beneficiaries are reminded that the assistance is completely free and should not be charged for. The program is coordinated with President Claudia Sheinbaum and Puebla Governor Alejandro Armenta, reflecting a joint effort to guarantee food security for the city’s most vulnerable families.
