Mexico's Electoral Tribunal reports 864 million pesos in luxury assets

The Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) disclosed in its 2025 public account that it holds movable assets valued at 864 million 634 thousand 394 pesos. The inventory lists a fleet of high‑end vehicles worth nearly 98 million pesos, including 22 electric cars, Japanese vans priced at about 702 thousand pesos each and three U.S.‑made armored SUVs costing roughly 1.6 million pesos per unit.

The report also details purchases of designer office furniture, artworks, gym equipment, five Meta Quest 3 virtual‑reality headsets and two Phantom drones. The disclosure to the Supreme Audit Institution (ASF) has reignited debate over public‑sector spending and the consistency of austerity rhetoric with the tribunal’s consumption of high‑cost goods.
