Mexico's Emerging Writers Spotlighted in National Literary Course and Pulitzer Laureate Lecture

Karla Lucía Delgado Hernández, a literature student at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla, was chosen as one of 25 participants nationwide for the XVIII Course of Literary Creation in Xalapa (2026). Organized by the Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas with the Universidad Veracruzana, the two‑week program offered about 15 master talks and genre‑specific workshops, giving young writers intensive training and networking opportunities.

Pulitzer‑winning author Cristina Rivera Garza delivered a plenary lecture titled “Archives of Breath” at the AUKA Concert Hall in Mexicali. In the talk she explained the research behind her book *El invencible verano de Liliana*, emphasizing how personal archives preserve voices and confront gender‑based violence. The free event was part of the 50th‑anniversary celebrations of the Biblioteca Pública Central Estatal and attracted a large audience.
