Mexico's Federal Investigation Agency logs major June arrests and drug seizures

In June, the Federal Investigation Agency (AEI) of Mexico's North District carried out 159 operations, resulting in the execution of 431 arrest warrants, including 14 for homicide. Authorities seized eight firearms, eight magazines, and 641 live cartridges, as well as 119.8 tonnes of illicit drugs: about 116.4 tonnes of crystal meth, 2.9 tonnes of marijuana, 443 grams of cocaine and 25 grams of heroin. The operation also involved 69 raids, 21 of which were simultaneous actions coordinated with the State Public Security Secretariat, municipal police, the Mexican Army and the National Guard. In addition, 89 people were caught in the act, 35 stolen vehicles were recovered, 81 vehicles were impounded for investigation, and 45 missing‑person cases were located.

These results illustrate a large‑scale law‑enforcement effort targeting drug trafficking and violent crime in the northern region of Mexico.
