Mexico's FGR reports missed meeting with search collectives

The Mexican Attorney General's Office (FGR) reported that family members and search collectives failed to attend a scheduled meeting with the Michoacán State Prosecutor's Office. The meeting was intended to review investigation files regarding missing persons.

The FGR stated that the meeting was organized following dialogues with the collective ‘Buscando Cuerpos A. C.’, which has been holding a protest at the FGR headquarters in Mexico City since September 9. While the families did not attend the specific appointment, the FGR noted that the invitation remains open for whenever they deem it appropriate.

As part of its institutional model, the FGR has provided technical and legal assistance, collected genetic samples, and worked to include cases in the ‘¿Has visto a...?’ program. Additionally, the agency has coordinated with the Executive Commission for Victim Assistance (CEAV) and the Rescue and Medical Urgency Squadron (ERUM) to provide medical care, food, and medicine to those involved.
