Mexico's football team trains for World Cup clash with South Korea

Mexico's national soccer squad resumed training at the Centre of High Performance (CAR) in Mexico City ahead of its Group A match against South Korea at the 2026 World Cup. Coach Javier Aguirre oversaw drills that included stretching, obstacle courses, short‑pass combos and goalkeeper work, with media from both nations observing. Players were given an afternoon off to spend time with families before returning for evening sessions.

The team will face South Korea on Thursday in Guadalajara after a 2‑0 win over South Africa. Aguirre is expected to confirm Edson Álvarez as the replacement for suspended defender César Montes, while Gilberto Mora and other attackers such as Julián Quiñones and Raúl Jiménez are set to lead the offense. South Korea currently tops the group on goal difference.
