Mexico’s Government Boosts Missing‑Person Coordination and Seizes Cartel Finances

The Mexican government has heightened its response to disappearances. Rosa Icela Rodríguez, Secretary of Governance, has directed the National Immediate Search Alert to prioritize cases, linking the Secretariat of Governance, the National Search Commission, SSPC, the Attorney General’s Office, the armed forces and the National Guard to cut reaction times and assist families under President‑elect Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration.

At the same time, Conagua, led by Efraín Morales López, is modernising irrigation in Morelos, applying new technology to 427 ha in District 16 and establishing demonstration plots to conserve water and raise crop yields. Law‑enforcement operations also struck a major financial node of the Noreste Cartel: Justo Aurelio Rivera Parrazales was arrested and assets worth over 145 million pesos, luxury vehicles, cash, jewelry and weapons were seized by the Navy in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office and SSPC.
