Mexico's IECM Allocates 294 Million Pesos to Nine Parties Including New Paz and Somos México
In late June 2026 the General Council of Mexico’s National Electoral Institute (INE) approved the registration of two new political formations: Partido Paz and Somos México.
A week later, on 6 July 2026, the General Council of the Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) authorized the redistribution of almost 294 million pesos to the nine parties represented in the capital. The bulk of the ordinary‑fund allocation went to Morena (68 million 961 thousand 812 pesos) and PAN (63 million 788 thousand 64 pesos). The newly‑registered parties each received 5 million 877 thousand 121 pesos for ordinary activities and an additional 293 thousand 856 pesos for specific activities.
IECM also earmarked 29 million 385 thousand 609 pesos for strengthening women’s leadership, 17 million 631 thousand 365 pesos for youth leadership, and 11 million 754 thousand 243 pesos for research on Mexico City issues. Private contributions to parties were capped at a total of 10 million 559 thousand 777 pesos, with a per‑party cash limit of 5 million 877 thousand 121 pesos.
