Mexico's INE files complaint with FGR over alleged corruption
The National Electoral Institute (INE) has filed a formal complaint with the Attorney General's Office (FGR) regarding alleged irregularities in the management of public resources and potential corruption. The decision was approved unanimously by the ten electoral councilors.
The complaint specifically targets the administration of former council president Guadalupe Taddei Zavala, though it is directed at whoever may be found responsible. The allegations include six potential offenses: unlawful use of powers, abuse of functions, influence peddling, embezzlement, illicit enrichment, and bribery.
Investigators are requested to examine claims involving videos that allegedly show Taddei negotiating the distribution of resources through electoral agency contracts. The probe also covers questioned contracts related to the production of voter ID cards. The INE stated the action is part of its obligation to ensure legality and transparency in the administration of public funds.
